Maddie at SPY Optic wanted a filter to promote a new product line or soft launch of a kind of rebrand in less than a month. After discussing the limitations of using text and explaining that Instagram at the time would not approve static text (especially branded text), she came up with the idea to have the persons separate from the background and put in front of a simple gray and white grid with a shadow and the banner above with a similar shadow with the slogan “Beyond Control”. She sent me over a photoshop mockup of what she wanted and I was able to pull and tweak some of the assets to work for this filter. Turn around was less than a week and was approved quickly before the release date.

The Beyond Control Filter was Published on September 15th, 2020. Between September 15th, 2020 and February 2nd, 2021 (5.5 months) the filter has reached 14.4k Impressions and 22.8k Opens. This filter was for a special release and is no longer their primary filter. If this filter was a primary brand filter with continued use, the impressions and engagement would be much higher.
